The open-air exhibition at the Park of the Thousand Years offers visitors the opportunity to admire architectural masterpieces of historical Hungary represented in the form of models. Additionally, they can gain insight into a valuable indoor installation.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the medieval atmosphere by donning period clothes and knight's capes, available for both children and adults. They can partake in a mini-guided tour or explore the park independently, with thematic booklets and quiz booklets enhancing the experience. We recommend keeping an eye out for family events held in the park to further enrich your visit!

During the summer months, visitors can enjoy theatrical performances in the form of musicals, folk musical plays, operettas, and rock operas at the Patkó Equestrian and Outdoor Theatre. A unique feature of this theater is the incorporation of horses as important characters in the performances, offering an opportunity to celebrate our historical heritage and Hungarian equestrian tradition. Those interested should purchase tickets inadvance, as popular seats tend to sell out quickly.

The Aranyszöm Event House is the 'cultural stronghold of the people of Mórahalom.' The building comprises a Theater Hall, a Great Hall, and a Wedding Hall, providing space for city events, theater performances, conferences, and exhibitions. The programs organized here nurture our culture and entertain visitors with a variety of events.

In the spring and autumn months, the Event House hosts enjoyable theater performances, concerts, and occasional musical events, offering a pleasant recreation at the end of the day. Tickets for current performances can be purchased in advance online or at the venue.

The Kolo Cultural Center serves as a meeting point for the Serbian and Hungarian communities, bridging differences and highlighting similarities. Often referred to as the 'Gateway of the Balkans,' it acts as a cultural link, connecting Hungarian and Serbian traditions and art. The center hosts a variety of cultural events and concerts, showcasing the rich heritage of both communities.

The Church of King Saint László exudes an atmosphere steeped in devotion and prayers that have spanned more than a century, a legacy still palpable today. This church stands as the jewel of Mórahalom and its surroundings, inviting both the faithful residents and visiting guests to find solace and quiet reflection from morning to evening.

The Tóth Menyhért Municipal Library and Community House serves as the town's living room and study hub. It welcomes visitors with a calm and friendly environment, offering opportunities for relaxation, entertainment, and self-education. Whether you're looking to unwind, have fun, or engage in personal growth, this multifunctional space provides a welcoming atmosphere for all.

ACTIVE RECREATION

The Móradomb Swimming Pool primarily serves sports and training activities. It includes a competition pool, a teaching pool, and a sauna block featuring Finnish and infrared saunas, as well as a hot tub shower. Additionally, an auditorium with seating for 72 people has been integrated into the pool area. The facility is equipped to host national water polo matches and short course swimming competitions.

The Futó-Dobó Equestrian Center offers a range of horse-related activities, including horse-drawn carriage rides, touring horseback riding, therapeutic horseback riding, and horseback riding lessons. The center actively engages in the education of younger generations by preparing them for StartPass-exams and developing children's riding skills. Facilities at the center include a covered stable, a show jumping track, a show jumping training track, and a gallop track suitable for national races.

The Móradomb Sports Center features a sports and event hall where visitors can watch or participate in professional sports events. Lovers of team sports can rent artificial and natural grass fields, as well as rubberized sports fields, for activities with friends and family. Additionally, there is a court for beach soccer enthusiasts. For those who prefer individual exercise, an outdoor fitness park is available for workouts in the fresh air. The center also offers a 200 m running track for challenging runs, free of charge.

At the Rákóczi Square Sports Center, both beginners and advanced players can practice their backhand and forehand strokes on two clay tennis courts. Additionally, the sports complex features a ground court reminiscent of an old student novel, perfect for various sports such as mini-football, handball, volleyball, badminton, basketball, or streetball. Whether you're looking to improve your tennis skills or engage in team sports, the center offers diverse opportunities for active recreation.

The multifunctional facility of Bivaly Bowling Club & Bar provides space for sports, games, and entertainment. Stop by for a delicious dinner, and then, to end the evening, you can try bowling, billiards, air hockey, or even play X-box on-site

Mórahalom boasts several playgrounds, two of which are located in the town center. One is situated in the park next to the bus station, while the other is at the parking lots behind Pramonád tér (Pramonád Square). These playgrounds offer a great pastime for children and adults alike, with a variety of equipment and features to enjoy.

In addition to all this, the town offers several other opportunities for active recreation, including hiking trails, cycling routes, water sports activities, and organized outdoor events throughout the year.

Mórahalom's tourist offer is enriched by two educational trails: the Csipak educational trail and the Bölömbika educational trail. These trails provide visitors with opportunities to explore the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and local flora and fauna of the region, offering an immersive and educational experience for all.

In the case of the former, we can speak of a previously periodically waterlogged meadow, which has resulted in the development of a unique flora. Today, visitors to the Csipak educational trail can witness plant species that have become rare, such as the Siberian lady's petal or the spider plant, both considered highly protected species. Along the trail, nature enthusiasts are encouraged to listen and keep their eyes open to admire the breeding birds of the nearby lakes.

The Bölömbika nature trail is situated on the shores of Lake Nagyszéksós, within the Buffalo Reserve. This scenic trail provides insights into the history of the lake, as well as the unique ecosystems of reed-matt waterside associations and sedge meadows.

Along the hiking trail, visitors will encounter lookout points offering panoramic views of the lake. These lookouts provide opportunities to observe nesting and migrating birds, with information boards detailing their characteristic features and interesting facts. Notably, one of the observation towers is wheelchair accessible.

Both the Csipak and Bölömbika nature trails are integral parts of the Kiskunság National Park. Visitors interested in exploring additional programs and activities offered by the national park can find more information on the Kiskunság National Park's website.

The Saint János Lakeside Recreation Park offers a delightful pastime for outdoor bathing enthusiasts.

The image of the settlement is adorned by a series of squares and parks, each offering its own unique charm. Szent László Park, located next to the spa, provides a tranquil retreat for relaxation and leisure. Opposite the bus station, Szentháromség tér (Szentáromság Square) boasts the Városháza (Town Hall) building, where passers-by can enjoy the ringing of bells at pre-scheduled times, adding to the ambiance of the area.

Along the Millenniumi sétány (Millenium Promenade), visitors can explore Barmos György Square, known for its scenic beauty and cultural significance. Additionally, the rose arbor in the park adjacent to the bus station offers a delightful stroll, with benches providing opportunities to rest and enjoy the picturesque views, especially during the spring and early summer flowering seasons.

Whether you're interested in exploring historical landmarks, scenic parks, or charming streets, our walking routes provide an enjoyable way to experience the town.

Begin your journey at the central Szent László Park, where you can pause for a moment in its beautiful and orderly environment. Surrounded by trees and adorned with flower beds, the park is home to statues and monuments commemorating our historical turns of fate.

The defining building of the city center is the Catholic church named after Szent. László, situated on the opposite side of the park. Consecrated in 1903, the church serves as a dedication to King Saint László.

Continuing in front of the church in the direction of Zákányszék, the Millennium Promenade leads to Barmos György Square. This area, formerly known as "Kenyérváró halom," translates to "hill waiting for bread." The name holds a double meaning: it was where fresh bread from Horgos was awaited, and it also served as a gathering place for day laborers.

On the right side of the Promenade, you'll find the Saint Margit Health Center and the Post office building. On the left side, you'll encounter the Elixír Medical Wellness and the Colosseum Hotel.

After a few metres, you'll reach Zákányszéki út (Zákányszéki Road), where you can immerse yourself in the enticing scents emanating from the Mórahalmi Rétesház (Strudel House). Here, you can purchase the famous Rózsa strudel, a delicacy registered by the Csongrád-Csanád County Treasures and considered part of the Mórahalmi Settlement Treasures.

Not far from Strudel House, at number 28 on the left, stands the old Fináncház building. The word 'finance' connotes financial security, and this building held significance for the region. It served as the headquarters for the fiscal guard section, playing a vital role in census efforts for taxable wine harvests in the surrounding villages and in preventing illegal activities.

The other walking route provides an opportunity to explore the cultural and entertainment offerings along Röszkei út (Röszkei Road). Starting from Szentáromság Square and heading towards Röszkei út (Röszkei Road), you'll encounter the Art Nouveau-style building of the city library, named after the painter Tóth Menyhért, a native of our town.

Opposite the library stands the Aranyszöm Event House, originally inaugurated in 1905 and renovated in 2003. This venue represents a vibrant hub of cultural activity, hosting various events and performances that contribute to the city's cultural landscape.

As you move away from the center, on the left side of the road, you'll come across the Gerle Mill, built by the renowned lawyer Imre Gerle in 1907. From the 1920s until the end of World War II in 1944, the building housed a mill shop and today functions as a rye mill.

Next to the mill stands the Cacao Club, although it previously served as Mórahalom's first cinema. Across from the community and youth center, you'll find the characteristic, renovated buildings of the row of bourgeois houses from the turn of the century.

One of these houses now hosts the Bivaly Bowling Club & Bar, offering exciting food and drinks alongside opportunities for pleasant relaxation through bowling, billiards, or air hockey.

As you continue, you'll come across the skateboard park in Mórahalom. Not much further along, you'll encounter the Kolo Serbian Cultural Center. Mórahalom, known as the 'Gateway to the Balkans,' embraces a rich tapestry of cultural, social, and religious communities from both sides of the border in Kolo. It showcases the myriad facets of Balkan culture alongside universal European traditions.

The Kolo Serbian Cultural Center hosts a variety of exciting events, including concerts, theater performances, and gastronomic gatherings.
